As educators, we understand that children learn best through child-centred exploration and discovery and in an environment where interactions between adults and children are active, stimulating and engaging. As parents, we understand that the highest hopes and aspirations are reserved for our children. With that in mind, we created Busy Hands ‘n’ Minds – a childcare centre that supports early childhood philosophies that stress the importance of a structured learning environment, inquiry-based play and the development of the whole child. At Busy Hands ‘n’ Minds, we provide an environment that promotes the physical, emotional, social, language and cognitive growth of each child at their own pace.
We combine a teacher-directed and child-centred approach to learning in our curriculum. During our daily, large group activities, our educators introduce children to new concepts and ideas through our selected literacy, phonics, early math, science and social studies programs. Children are trusted to make choices and are seen as active participants in their own learning. Our child-directed, play-based learning encourages children to think, reason, question and experiment while reinforcing the skills learned during circle time.
At Busy Hands ‘n’ Minds, our educators have a love for children and a dedication to the field of Early Childhood Education. We are passionate about teaching and provide developmentally appropriate opportunities that inspire children to become confident, successful, life long learners. All staff must have a current Vulnerable Sector Check and First Aid CPR level C training throughout their employment with Busy Hands ‘n’ Minds.
We are proud participants of "Raising the Bar”- a quality initiative in the Region of Peel. Our Management, Educators and Centre Cook participate in on-going Professional Development, individually and as a team, in order to keep up-to-date with best practices and to ensure that we are providing the highest quality care and educational opportunities that the childcare industry has to offer.
